I am a writer of short stories. It is a genre I love and have been working at for some time. Short stories capture moments of brief but intense insight. They provide the reader with truth and pleasure about one character in a single situation. Born in New York City, raised on Long Island, I earned a B.S. in Elementary Education and a M.S. in Special Education.
I have worked for thirty years as a special educator and educational evaluator. I live on the North Shore of Long Island on a coastal peninsula. Living near the water, in close proximity to nature has been inspirational in constructing settings for my short stories. My interests are diverse and include political discourse, cooking, appreciating jazz music and classic rock to yoga and hiking in the woods. My work has appeared in Sanskrit, Forge, Wild Violet, Diverse Voices Quarterly, Tower Journal and Gemini Magazine.
Some of my interests and beliefs are blended within my stories and characters. At present, I am working on my first novel tentatively titled "Pen Pal."
